Dr Siro Fuata'i

Chairperson of TaPasefika Health Trust

Dr Siro Fauta'i has over 20 years experience in General Practice as well as working in the Auckland Pacific community. He is a founding member of South Sea Healthcare and Tapasefika Health Trust PHO.
General Manager Bader Drive Healthcare and Board member - Taikura Trust. Bader Drive HEalthcare is a provider under TaPasefika Health Trust PHO. Siro was the Pacific rep on the Primary Care Advisory Council in 2008-09.

 


 

 

Dr Teuila Percival

Paediatrician
MBChB, FRACP


Dr Percival represents South Seas Health Care on the TaPasefika Health Trust Board. South Seas Healthcare is one of the founding members of TaPasefika. South Seas is a Pacific Health provider in South Auckland know for its innovation in primary health care: 

  • Consultant Paediatrician, KidzFirst, Middlemore Hospital
  • Trustee TaPasefika Health Trust & South Seas Health Care, South Auckland
  •  Co-director AUT Pacific Island First Years of Life Longitudinal Study
  • Member MOH Pacific Health Reference Group
  • Member HRC Pacific Committee
  • Vice President Pasifika Medical Association

 


Mele Tuilotolava

Lawyer 

Mary is a Tongan born New Zealander, and self employed barrister & solicitor working mainly in litigation including, mental health cases and acting largely for polynesian clients. Mele was admitted to the Bar in 1979. Mele has served on a number of committees including:

  • Three years on the National Ethics Committee after being appointed in 2002 by the Ministry of Health
  • Membership of Commission D appointed at the General Synod to redraft the laws and regulations for members of the clergy including bishops and the laity
  • Is a current member of the Mangere Integrated Community Health Group (MICH) appointed by the CMDHB to look at health issues affecting the peoples of the Magere suburb in South Auckland NZ

Nuku Rapana

Community Leader

Nuku is an innovative Pasifika community leader and social entrepreneur. Nuku has been President of the Pukapuka Community of NZ Inc for the past 12 years. He currently sits on several Trust boards including being chair of the Cook Islands Taokotai Trust, and Pacific Arts Development Centre Trust.


 

 


Anna Bailey

CEO Health Star Pacific Trust

Anna Bailey is Samoan born with a nursing background. Anna has over thirty five years experience in health, eleven of those for the Samoan government health services and Somoan Red Cross Society before migrating to Aotearoa in 1985. Anna worked at National Women's Hospital, before working as a Plunket nurse in Counties Manukau. Anna was a founding member of Health Star Pacific - established to provide specific health services to Pacific populations starting in 1994. Based in Panmure, Health Star Pacific is a Primary health care provider with a focus on health promotion & community health and is a fouding member of both the Tapasefika and Auckpac PHOs. Anna has been an active leader of the Samoan Nurses Association of New Zealand. She has a professional membership with the New Zealand Nurses Organisation.


 


Roine Lealaiauloto

CEO & Mental Health Social Worker Penina Health Trust 

Roine Fata Taeao- Lealaiauloto was born in Samoa and has a Bachelor of Social Work and is currently studying towards a Masters in Business Administration. She has worked in mental health for close to twenty years. She has worked for the then Dept of Social Welfare as a social worker and has also worked for the Fiaola Clinic in Apia (as a counsellor) and the YMCA in Apia (as a co-ordinator for the NZ programme). She has also worked as a project manager for the Mental Health Foundation of NZ and have done various contract work for Ministry of Health both regionally and nationally. Prior to starting up Penina Health Trust she was the Policy and Projects Manager for Pacificare Trust for six years. Her special interest is in policy analysis.

 

 


Dr Alec Ekeroma

Obestetrician/Gynaecologist

FRANZCOG, MRCOG, MBA

Alec grew up in Samoa and had his primary degree from Papua New Guinea. Postgraduate studies in Auckland and England followed. He is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in public (Middlemore Hospital) and private practice. He has an appointment with the University of Auckland as a Senior Lecturer and as Head of the Pacific Women's Health Research and Development Unit. He is on the Board of South Seas Healthcare, and was Chair for 4 years. He is the former President of the Pasifika Medical Association and the NZ Branch of his specialist College. He is a member of the National Advisory Committee and a Councilor of the RANZCOG.
